Admissions Visitors FAQ

Rose‑Hulman is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following local, state, and national health organization guidance.

How do I prepare for a safe and enjoyable visit to Rose-Hulman?
We look forward to hosting you for a visit on our campus. We require all visitors, staff, and students to wear a face mask while on campus, sanitize hands frequently, and practice social distancing whenever possible. Also, if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with the virus in the last 14 days, we ask that you reschedule your visit. Please complete the Travel & Symptoms Pre-Screening online form the day before your visit.

When should I arrive to the Office of Admissions for my visit?
Our visit times are strategically planned to limit your interaction with students as they switch classes. Please check in no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled visit time. During check-in Public Safety Officers will ensure you have completed the online pre-screening form and conduct a temperature check. Restrooms will be available after checking-in.

How will you facilitate social distancing during the presentation and tour?
The admissions presentations will be held in our Welcome Center with 3 distinct seating areas for our visiting families. This room will be cleaned before and after each use. Following the presentation, a current student will lead guests on a tour of campus. Our tours will be outdoors whenever possible; however, guests will be allowed to see inside our academic buildings, union, rec center, innovation centers, and a resident hall. Please refrain from handshakes in order to follow social distancing guidelines.

How many people will be attending our presentation and tour?
A max of 3 families can sign up for each time slot, with a max of 3 people from each family, ensuring that the visitors and guide never total more than 10 people. Our small tour groups fall in line with our desire to offer a personal experience to all visitors; guides will customize the tours to follow the personal interests of the prospective students.

Can we eat lunch on campus during our visit?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide on-campus dining options. However, Terre Haute offers excellent options for dine in or carry out. Some of our favorite local restaurants include Rick’s Smokehouse, Mogger’s, Java Haute, and Clabber Girl Bake Shop Café; click for a full list of Local Favorites.

Where will other requested meetings take place?
The itinerary you receive via email the day before your visit will include all meeting locations (locations are subject to last minute changes – you will be notified upon arrival of any modifications). Typically, meetings with coaches will occur in the open lobby of the Sports & Rec Center. Any other meetings will be scheduled in spaces that will allow for social distancing and will be cleaned before and after each meeting.
