The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment seeks to foster a culture of evidence-based continuous improvement and to be recognized as a leader and contributor in institutional research and the assessment of student learning.
We are nationally recognized for excellence in assessing student learning and using the results to guide new policies and practices.
In 2016 and again in 2021, we were among just four institutions of higher learning recognized by the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment’s (NILOA) Excellence in Assessment (EIA) program for sustained excellence in student learning outcomes assessment. The EIA designation “recognizes institutions that successfully integrate assessment practices throughout the institution, provide evidence of student learning outcomes, and use assessment results to guide institutional decision-making and improve student performance” (NILOA).
In support of our continuous improvement activities - the Office of Intuitional Research Planning and Assessment oversees the Rose-Hulman Institute Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs), Institute Data and Reporting, and Institutional Accreditation Activities.
