Five civil engineering students have received scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 by the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana (APAI) to encourage careers in construction management and engineering, and civil engineering.

Scholarship recipients were juniors Ethan Britt of Louisville, Ky., Cole McCreary of Brookville, Ind., and Caleb Williams of Terre Haute, along with sophomores Luke Calabrese of Sugar Grove, Ill., and Samantha Stevens of Eagan, Minn.

These students met all scholarship criteria, completed a personal interview with scholarship committee members and have plans to work in the civil engineering profession for an APAI member contractor. The scholarships were presented at the organization’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Scholarship Awards Banquet in Indianapolis.

APAI has a longstanding relationship with Rose-Hulman’s Department of Civil Engineering, and has awarded scholarships annually to support students and their career aspirations.
