Richard Marx Right Here Waiting at Rose-Hulman
Packing three decades of chart-topping hits, musical sensation Richard Marx brings his extraordinary talent to Rose-Hulman’s Hatfield Hall Thursday, January 25.
Best known for “Don’t Mean Nothing,” “Should’ve Known Better,” “Endless Summer Nights,” “Hazard,” “Right Here Waiting,” and other mega hits, Marx has been singing, writing, and producing smash adult contemporary singles practically nonstop since the late 1980s. After An Evening with Richard Marx you’ll understand why this recording industry phenomenon has sold more than 30 million albums.
A native of Chicago, Marx got his start in the music business singing for commercials and providing backup vocals for well-known artists such as Lionel Richey and Whitney Houston. He later penned songs for stars including Kenny Rogers, NSYNC, Josh Groban and Luther Vandross, whose Grammy-winning single, “Dance with My Father,” Marx co-wrote.
Starting with his self-titled debut album released in 1987, Marx has enjoyed a steady stream of top-10 hits, including 14 that reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts. He continues to write and perform new music, including the recent singles “Whatever We Started” and “Last Thing I Wanted.” An Evening with Richard Marx is sure to be one of the highlights of the Hatfield Hall Performing Arts Series this season.
