Engineering Management Student Opportunities

Engineering Management provides practical experience and networking opportunities for upper-level managers and entrepreneurs.

Student Opportunities

Engineering Management gives you plenty of opportunity to learn the real-world skills you’ll need to broaden your horizons to encompass an entire system from manufacturing and supply chain management to marketing and sales. You’re engineering background is critical, but it’s only the start of your career potential.

Integrated Project

An Integrated Project is a little like a Master’s Thesis combined with a real-world business plan or analysis. You’ll tackle a business or management challenge from a systems approach. Integrated Projects look at all the domains we cover in your coursework: technical, marketing, finance, and organizational issues. The blend of these domains varies with each project and is determined for a specific project at the proposal stage. Common project types include: new product development, development of a business plan for a new business venture, re-engineering of existing organizational process, a technology assessment study.

RISE

Rose Innovative Student Entrepreneurs is a club dedicated to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among Rose-Hulman students. The club, founded in 2012, empowers students to make their ideas into reality by giving them the tools to start, refine, and realize the visions that will shape tomorrow.

One of the main events sponsored by RISE is StartUp Weekend, which occurs each fall quarter on campus. It is a 54-hour event that kicks off on Friday night with a "pitch your idea" session and continues through Sunday when a panel of judges awards teams for their progress toward starting a company.

“Saying this program opened doors to opportunity does not begin to express the benefits of the MSEM program. Rose has transformed me into a professional who is valued and appreciated.”
