APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

To be considered for need-based financial aid at Rose-Hulman, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Rose-Hulman Federal School Code is 001830, and the FAFSA becomes available each year starting October 1. Indiana residents must submit the FAFSA by April 15 to be considered for State of Indiana financial aid.

What Is the FAFSA?

The FAFSA is a confidential form that evaluates a family’s financial information to estimate their ability to contribute toward college costs.

  • Information from the FAFSA is used to calculate the Student Aid Index (SAI).
  • Colleges use the SAI to determine eligibility for need-based financial aid.
  • The SAI is compared to the total cost of attendance to help determine the types and amounts of aid a student may receive.
