FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?

Led operations at a 15-person startup called Social Reactor and it started, and ended, while I was still a student. It unexpectedly folded three weeks after I started full-time, and two weeks before graduation. I’ve since launched three companies with the founder of Social Reactor, so it wasn’t all bad.

MOST VALUABLE LESSON YOU LEARNED ON THAT JOB?

Things change rapidly, whether you like it or not, and the key is how you react to it.

MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?

Dr. Richards [Mechanical Engineering] because he put up with me my freshman year when I was definitely lacking in the maturity column, and continued to be supportive and welcoming

IDEAL WEEKEND?

Working on a project around my house on Saturday, and tinkering on some of my electronics projects in my garage on Sunday

STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?

May the Force be with you.

WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?

Build devices for my dog-currently building a feeder devices that I’ll be able to control from my phone.

ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?

Leverage the additional resources for learning and growth that exist outside of the classroom-fraternities, sororities, student clubs, competition teams, etc. It’s unlikely that you’ll ever find yourself in such a collaborative environment surrounded by brilliant minds like you will be at Rose.
