When deciding what major is best for you, know that by choosing Rose-Hulman, you will receive individual attention and support throughout this journey.
Many individuals from different parts of campus work with students who are still exploring the academic path and major that’s right for them. All first-year students are assigned an academic advisor suited to their needs who will work to create a fall schedule.
Rose-Hulman’s undergraduate degree programs are designed to give you the foundation to succeed. No matter what major you choose, you’ll be immersed in hands-on experiences, work in state-of-the-art labs, and learn from world-class professors in our top-ranked engineering, science and mathematics programs.
During the fall term, we encourage you to do the following:
✔️ Attend student group activities that allow you to experience what the programs offer
✔️ Talk with professors in our different programs
✔️ Meet students in the majors that interest you
✔️ Explore the different majors Rose offers
Your Fall Schedule
Every Rose-Hulman student, regardless of major, will take foundational courses as part of their full (12-18 hour) schedule. Required courses take priority, followed by electives. These classes often include calculus, physics and RHIT 100. Your other classes are determined based on many factors, including AP credits you may have entering your first year.
