The Drama Club’s fall play, “You Can’t Take It with You,” is the first of three productions planned this school year on the Hatfield Hall stage. Other acts will be “She Kills Monsters” this winter and “Guys and Dolls” this spring.

The Rose-Hulman Drama Club is preparing to draw open the curtain on its fall play, “You Can’t Take It with You,” on November 1-3. This is the first of three shows during the 2024-25 school year on the Hatfield Hall Theater stage that will showcase students’ acting, musical, and dancing talents.

The fall production tells the amusing story of Tony Kirby, the son of a Wall Street banker, who falls in love with Alice Sycamore, a daughter from an eccentric family. The couple fear that their different backgrounds will make marriage impossible but decide to plan a dinner at the Sycamores' home to see if they’re wrong. However, when Tony brings his family on the wrong night, a series of disastrous and hilarious events occur.

Opening night is Friday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m., with other performances following on Saturday, November 2, and Sunday, November 3, both at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults per show and $10 for youths under 18 years old.

Other Drama Club shows this school year will be the drama “She Kills Monsters” on January 24-26, 2025, and the popular musical “Guys and Dolls” on April 25-27, 2025.
