1. Prepare an abstract which includes the following information:
(a) motivation - why the problem is of interest
(b) problem statement - single sentence which defines the need for your system
(c) objectives - what you expect to achieve
(d) approach - methods you will use to achieve your objectives
(e) expected results
(f) literature reference(s)
The abstract should be no longer than one page, 12-point font. Attach a photocopy of the article(s) you will use.
2. Design, implement, and test your system.
3. Prepare an HTML presentation of your work. Install in the same directory as you did for previous labs. Refer to Requirements and Tips for HTML Presentations for specific guidelines about your HTML project implementation. All files associated with your presentation must be placed in the subdirectory called ‘termproj’, and the top-level page of your presentation must be called index.htm.
4. Prepare a 10 minute oral presentation of your work. An overhead projector and video projector will be available. Take care that your visual aids are appropriate for an oral presentation, e.g., easily readable font for text, limited amount of text per display, etc. Simply using your HTML presentation as the sole visual aid is not encouraged.
11 Jan 2002 (Fri): Submit proposal abstract by 5 pm.
14 Jan 2002 (Mon): Receive approval to begin work.
07 Feb 2002 (Thu): Submit URL to top-level document of HTML presentation. Project must be complete at this time.
11 Feb 2002 (Mon): Oral project presentations to class during the three hour lab time. Faculty will be invited to this presentation.
