Meet Nyomi
A computer science major from Ohio who hopes to champion women in STEM and use technology to help marginalized communities.
What do you most expect to gain from being part of our scholars program?
I hope to have some interdisciplinary interaction with other scholars who are as enthusiastic about STEM careers and experiences as I am.
How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy reading, letter-writing, and gardening.
What is the nerdiest thing you do?
I've gotten into mechanical keyboard building, and hope to complete my own by the end of the school year.
How do you hope to change the world with the knowledge you’ll gain at Rose-Hulman?
I hope to be a positive figure for women in STEM and I hope to use technology to uplift marginalized communities.
How did you know Rose was right for you?
The people have always been welcoming and it was always clear that relationship-building was always just as important as academics.
