Wayne Dennison, Ph.D., joined Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2014 as the vice president for information technology and chief information officer. Dennison has more than 25 years of higher education IT leadership experience.

Prior to joining Rose-Hulman, Dennison served as executive director of enterprise systems and services at Kennesaw State University, where he was responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise-level systems and technologies. During his 18-year tenure at Kennesaw State, he also served in the roles of director of the Banner student information system, assistant director of student financial aid, interim director of student financial aid, and was the initial project manager on campus. Prior to his responsibilities at Kennesaw State, Dennison served in a variety of roles at the University of Memphis, including computer support specialist and coordinator of computers and networks for enrollment services. Dennison has also provided services as a technical consultant for over 25 higher education institutions and a number of organizations, including the Georgia Student Finance Commission and National Computer Systems.

Dennison holds a doctoral degree in instructional technology from Georgia State University, where he received the Learning Technologies Division’s Outstanding Dissertation Award for his research on ͞Critical Success Factors for Technological Innovation and Diffusion in Higher Education. He also has a master’s degree in management information systems and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Memphis. He received an associate’s degree in business administration from Jackson State Community College. Additionally, he has completed the managing technical professionals and organizations certificate program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Gartner Academy for Leadership Development program.

At Kennesaw State, Dennison was named Administrator of the Year and served as a member of the President’s Strategic Planning and Thinking Committee. He is also a past recipient of the Georgia Board of Regents’ Best Practice Award and served the state as secretary for the University System of Georgia Chief Information Officer Advisory Council from 2012 to 2014.

Dennison and his wife, Angela, have been married since 1986 and have two children. Their daughter, Rachel, is an educator who lives in Tennessee. Their son, Adam, is completing his college education in Georgia. Wayne enjoys spending time with his family, rafting, and hiking.
