Application Process Students apply for the grants in one of two ways.
- Submit an application to work on a project proposed by a faculty mentor (or small group of mentors). This is intended primarily for freshman and sophomores starting out in research.
- Writing a proposal for their research in conjunction with a specific mentor. The proposal must include a narrative, a timeline and a letter of support from the mentor. This is intended for sophomores and juniors who have established a concrete research plan.
In the middle of the winter quarter of each year a request for applications and proposals for the programs. The applications are submitted through the RSURP Moodle group. (Rose community only). More details are available on the Moodle page.
To get some sense of the scope and type of research a list of past research projects is given on the current and previous awards page.
