Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles

Welcome to the Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles Team Page

Our Team

The Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles (RHEV) team is comprised of interdisciplinary undergraduate engineering students. Together this team has built two of the most fuel efficient single passenger vehicles in the United States. For the past 3 years, RHEV has placed two cars in the top five of the Shell Eco-Marathon. The team's current reccord of 1972 mpg was set in 2007 at Rockingham Speedway in Corby, England

Our Competitions

Currently the Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicle Team competes in two competitions:

SAE Supermileage

The SAE Supermileage competition is currently held in Marshall, Michigan at the EATON Proving Grounds. This yearly competition takes place during the month of June.

Shell Eco-Marathon

The Shell Eco-Marathon is currently held in Houston, Texas at the George R Brown Convention Center. This yearly competition takes place during the end of March to early April.

Our Goal

The objective of the Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles Team is to maximize fuel economy in a single person vehicle created to compete against other schools and teams in sanctioned competitions. The team provides an opportunity for students to learn about and participate in the design and construction of a fuel efficient vehicle.
