The Center for the Practice and Scholarship of Education (CPSE) is
unique among university teaching/learning centers in acknowledging and seeking to enhance both sides of
the dual practitioner-scholar role of faculty. The CPSE nurtures and inspires individuals engaged in
the practice and in the scholarship of education. By
helping faculty achieve their full potential, the CPSE maximizes Rose-Hulman's impact on the education
of science, engineering, and mathematics students.

Dr. John Aidoo of the Rose-Hulman Civil Engineering Department received the 2015 Dean’s Outstanding Teacher Award. He was honored for his work with Operation Catapult, Engineers Without Borders, and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Call,

stop by Moench Hall, room D226, to:
- find resources about a variety of teaching and educational research topics
- connect with people/offices on campus to help you pursue your educational interests
- get help carrying out an educational research project
- discuss course evaluation results and plan course improvements
- arrange to have classes videotaped and/or peer-reviewed
- brainstorm ideas for projects or proposals
- obtain peer feedback on grant proposal or manuscript drafts
- share your ideas about other services or events the CPSE could provide

 RosePOD, Academic Affairs, and CPSE hosted Dr. Jeff Buller, from Florida Atlantic University, for the Positive Academic Leadership workshop. Dr. Buller presented both the theoretical basis for positive leadership, as well as the nuts-and-bolts relating to implementing positive leadership in the day-to-day. Dr. Buller noted that “results can be positive, even when we’re not feeling positive”.
