Requirements for the Minor

At Rose-Hulman, we do not offer a major in robotics. Students major in mechanical, electrical, computer,  software engineering, or computer science to gain depth in their field. They then choose one of nine tracks to gain experience or breadth in another robotics field. Lastly, they work on a multidisciplinary senior project, with students from the other majors and serve as the domain expert. The following tracks are currently available:
  1. CSSE with Controls [4 year schedule for CS and SE]
  2. CSSE with Hardware [4 year schedule for CS and SE]
  3. CSSE with Mechanics [4 year schedule for CS and SE]
  4. CPE [4 year schedule]
  5. EE with Programming [4 year schedule]
  6. ECE with Sensors [4 year schedule]
  7. ECE with Mechanics [4 year schedule]
  8. ME with Electronics [4 year schedule]
  9. ME with Programming [4 year schedule]

This spreadsheet contains a side-by-side comparison of the courses for each of the nine tracks. It also shows that each of the five majors can obtain any track within their major without overloading.   You can also get a quick overview of the tracks at the following link: Tracks At A Glance

The tables next to each of the track names above show sample 4-year schedules for students in each of the seven tracks.

If you decide to pursue the Multidisciplinary Minor in Robotics, you should fill out the following Declaration of Intent form for your particular major and bring it to the appropriate advisor:
