ROSE-BUD Scholarship

The ROSE-BUD program is designed to broaden diversity in the fields of computer science, computer, electrical and software engineering.

ROSE-BUD’s goal is to enhance diversity among academically talented computer science, computer, electrical,  and software engineering majors. The program specifically seeks to help students with a demonstrated financial need, with an emphasis on first-generation college students and/or students whose unique life experiences have helped them to develop character traits that will contribute to the diversity of the Rose-Hulman community.

The ROSE-BUD scholarship is open to incoming freshmen majoring in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering. The maximum ROSE-BUD scholarship is $10,000 per academic year and the amount awarded will be based on the Rose-BUD application in conjunction with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the RHIT admission application.

ROSE-BUD Scholars will retain their scholarships as long as they maintain a GPA of at least 2.75, remain enrolled full-time in one of the selected majors, and participate in the required activities. Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for the Rose-BUD Scholarship.

The ROSE-BUD program provides financial support, advising, mentoring, networking,  and professional development.

ROSE-BUD Activities

We have created special support mechanisms for both scholarship recipients and current Rose- Hulman students to help them prepare for summer internships and research experiences.
