Athletic Facilities and Fields

Rose-Hulman provides extensive facilities and a welcoming environment for our guests. Click on the image below for photos of special event hosted by the Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities department.


Sports and Recreation Center (SRC)

The Sports and Recreation Center (SRC) is a state-of-the-art intramural and varsity athletic recreation center that contains all of the indoor facilities shown below. The $20 million facility was constructed in 1997.


SRC Fieldhouse

The SRC fieldhouse is the main area on campus for recreation and intramural activities. 


Hulbert Arena

Hulbert Arena is home to Rose-Hulman's basketball and volleyball program. It is a 1,700-seat facility that will be used for the competition field. The fieldhouse and Hulbert Arena are separated by a wall.

Cook Stadium  

Cook Stadium

Cook Stadium at Phil Brown Field features a press box and seats more than 2,500 fans for NCAA Division III football action. The field was renovated in 1996 to include new grandstands, and a new field surface was installed in 2010.

Art Nehf Field

Rose-Hulman plays its home baseball games at Art Nehf Field. Recent renovations include new dugouts, lights, a new press box, club seating area, improved fencing, batting cages, bullpen areas, and an inning-by-inning scoreboard. Art Nehf Field served as the site for the 2005 and 2006 NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals.


Rose-Hulman Softball Field

Rose-Hulman's softball field, constructed in 2000, has been called one of the top venues in the Midwest by participants at every level. The facility contains lights, full-length dugouts, bleacher seating, complete bullpens, tarps, and a press box.


William Welch Track & Field Complex

The $1 million, state-of-the-art William Welch Track and Field Complex features a Martin ISS 1000 surface, used in the Olympic Games and NCAA championships at all levels. The complex is located in Cook Stadium and is used for the crosscountry and track and field meets.


Jim Rendel Soccer Field

The men's and women's soccer teams play home day matches at Jim Rendel Field. Night matches are played in the lighted intramural fields. Jim Rendel Field features a press box, bleachers for fans, a scoreboard, and an excellent surface.


Joy Hulbert Outdoor Tennis Courts

The Joy Hulbert Outdoor Tennis Courts are located east of Cook Stadium. The courts are used primarily for intramural tennis tournaments.

Rose-Hulman Natatorium

While serving as home to the Fightin' Engineers swimming and diving programs, the Rose-Hulman natatorium also provides a home for all recreational and educational swimming on campus.

Multi Purpose  

Multi-Purpose Room

The Multi-Purpose Room is the most reserved room in the Sports and Recreation Center.  With seating for 100 spectators the room is used for a variety of reasons.  The MPR is used for exercise classes, club activities, meeting space, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and many other activities.

Intramural Fields

Rose-Hulman's intramural fields are heavily used by students, with nearly 75 percent of all students participate in at least one intramural activity. The fields are also used for varsity practices, home soccer night matches, flag football, sno-ball softball tournament, ultimate Frisbee, and 3-pitch softball.

Weight -Room  

Weight Room

The weight room contains all of the Rose-Hulman's strength training equipment. This area features Hammer Strength and Magnum exercise equipment that is flexible for use from beginners to highly advanced users. The cardiovascular area, located in the fieldhouse is also attended by weight room staff.


Racquetball Courts

The racquetball courts are located on the south end of the SRC fieldhouse. The courts are used for intramural racquetball.
