Available Positions in Mathematics Department
The Mathematics Department at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level for the Fall of 2016, one of which is expected to be a tenure-track position in statistics. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching and continued scholarly and professional development. We are seeking individuals who will interact well with students and faculty in our science and engineering programs. All areas of the mathematical sciences will be considered, though preference will be given to candidates whose background and expertise complement and enhance our degree programs in mathematics, biomathematics, or computational science. For our statistics position, all areas of expertise are welcome, though preference will be given to candidates whose background and expertise complement and enhance our current offerings in applied statistics and data science.
Successful candidates will have an earned Ph.D. or near completion in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or closely-related field by Fall 2016. The essential job functions include: classroom teaching and student advising; curriculum development and continuous improvement; research and other professional development activities; and service and committee work. Experience teaching undergraduate mathematics or statistics with full responsibility is desired. A research and scholarship program that supports undergraduate education or undergraduate mathematics or statistics research is also desirable.
