Welcome to the family
Since arriving at Rose-Hulman a few years ago, it has been very easy for me to find reasons to be proud: The No. 1 ranking from U.S. News and World Report, our 99-percent graduate job placement, our rich history and long list of successful, world-changing alumni, to name only a few.
But what I love most about Rose-Hulman is how, once you are here, you become part of a larger, supportive, family. With the close, personal attention of our faculty, we urge our students to pursue their dreams while gaining the tools they will need to make them a reality. We encourage them to solve problems, take calculated risks, be creative and look for ways to add value to their organizations. We call those qualities “the entrepreneurial mindset.”
As President, I am proud that hundreds of companies seek out Rose-Hulman graduates every year for employment. But I’m also proud that our students learn about art, history, economics, politics, geography, culture and more while developing a sense of service to their communities and the world. Indeed, our current five-year strategic plan includes an emphasis on expanding our students’ horizons. We want them to imagine a future with virtually no limits as our dedicated faculty provide the tools needed to realize those dreams.
I encourage you to check out more of our website; but, the best way to know Rose-Hulman is to visit campus. When you arrive, speak with students and walk our beautiful, spacious grounds, I’m certain you’ll discover that Rose-Hulman is much more than an excellent school for engineers -- it is a place where dreams are born and take flight.
