Hanging Tool Chest

Before building this tool chest, my tools were distributed over three locations in the adjacent utility room. I built it from mahogany, to match my work bench. The design and dimensions of the chest loosely follow those of Christian Becksvoort as documented in Fine Woodworking, #153–Tools & Shops 2002 Issue.

I like a hanging tool chest for various reasons: (1) I don't have to bend over to fetch tools from a box on the floor, which is friendly on my back. (2) I have limited floor space. (3) I don't travel with my tools. (4) I set up the tool chest so that all tools are farily easily accessible, no digging for them, no solving puzzles to get to them, just pick up a tool and use it.
