The box on the left is a No. 8 tall box (of Wilson's design) made from cherry. It is 14.5" wide, 10" deep and 8.5" tall. I made it as part of a workshop with John Kellogg at the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, KY.I recently completed the box on the right. It is a number 0 box (of my own design.) It is about 3.5 inches wide, 2.5 inches deep and about 3.5 inches tall. It is made from birsdeye maple, which I had to plane down from a 1/2 board. I was not able to plane it down enough, which caused the fingers to split. This box was originally two fingers taller, but the splitting at the bottom was so severe that I cut it down.
