I built this storage unit for belt-and-suspendor reasons. Even though I am convinced that my hanging tool chest will never fall off the wall, after all, I used cleats that are screwed into the studs with 4" #12 screws, I made the storage unit so that if the hanging tool chest were to come off, it does not have far to fall. This storage unit is a case with three shelves and two doors, again, all built from mahogany and finished in four coats of Waterlox Original Sealer/Finish. The hinges are antique cast iron Victorian hinges.
I experiments with pegged lapped joints for the doors but am not convinced that they are necessary. Looks nice though.
