I took a course on making Shaker Oval Boxes with John Wilson, who is credited with keeping alive the art of making Shaker Oval Boxes. He is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend taking a course from him. I took one of the courses he regularily gives at the Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY. It is a pleasure to stay at the Village. In general, I like the attitude of the Shakers a lot and it is a shame that safe for a handful, they do not exist any longer. Their attitudes towards communal work is to be highly recommended.
