This is the first time I worked with cherry, and it is a pleasure to do so. I got some nice Cherry from my regular place, Northwest Lumber in Indianapolis. I picked boards that had a nice grain to it, and some even had holes from wood eating worms. I inlaid a strip of Walnut along the bottom of the sides and coated the table with Sam Maloof's poly/oil and oil/wax finish. I bought the brushed steel knobs in Germany and feel that the modern design goes well with the table.
