Our books cases are full and our living room is in essence a library. There is no acceptable space anywhere else in our house for book cases. Ok, our children have bookcases in their own rooms. For a while, we took a Shaker approach towards things, for every book that came into the house, another one had to go. This improved the overall qaulity of our library, however, it got to a point where I was not interested in removing books any longer. I have been thinking for a while about additional book case space, when it hit me one day, that there is space for at least one more shelf above the existing book cases, hence the two book shelves in this post. Lesson to be learned: Next time get a house with tall ceilings. The book cases are built from poplar, a nice Indiana wood and finished with a finish as developed by Sam Maloof.
