CSSE 142: Practical Security III (a.k.a. The CTF Class)

During this third class in the sequence, students in the first term of their second year enhance their computer security skills through preparation for and participation in capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions. Unlike CSSE 140/141, this class is not taught by Computer Security Club students, but by a faculty member who helps mentor the cybersecurity competition team.

What is it?

In this class you continue learning applied cybersecurity topics with a focus on applying concepts learned in CSSE140/141 to security competitions such as capture-the-flag events. You will experience strategy used for security competitions, practice working as a team for effective competition, participate in some security competitions, and construct exercises used for running a CTF event used in CSSE 141.
