Ingrams take San Diego 2007

Leaving for the big family vacation.

Lindsay and J at the airport.

Meet and greet via Hertz.

Needed a little sustenance to take on the big city.

Everyone makes a trip to the beach.

First dip for J in the Pacific.

This view was from the porch of the condo.

Glad to see my brothers after a long day.

Wish I had seen my luggage after that long day.

Frayed nerves smoothed over.

Getting started on the holiday Chex mix already.

Everyone's arrived - let the good times start.

Spent the day at Balboa Park.

Lindsay loved the Museum of Man.

A chimpanzee handprint.

The skulls of my favorite human ancestors.

Part of an ethnic art exhiit.

The creation story in pictures of an ancient culture.

The park buildings were lovely.

The botanical center was wonderful as expected.

Marilyn played the tourist with us.

Joel took some lovely photos.

The orchids were breathtaking.

The responsible adults.

The irresponsble children.

Whoever took this picture has a keen eye for perspective.

Took some time to recover prior to seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Marilyn asked J about how that magic box worked.

Had very authentic Mexican for dinner.

Joe continually says, I can't believe these goofballs belong to me.

Taking in the view.

Lovely sunsets every night.

Only in California.

The master napper, with Guitar Hero raging right in front of him.

Had the fanciest dinner ever in Del Mar.

Asolutely spectacular.

Spent the afternoon in La Jolla, walking along the rocky shoreline.

These birds were keeping an eye on Joel.

The elephant seals couldn't have cared less about all the observers.

Back together again.

Enjoying the views.

Mom and Dad appeared to be having fun.

The kids had fun.

Lindsay and J - so cute.

San Diego has hills but come on.

We harvested J's hair to help climb Everest.

Joel and J scoping out the scene - it's safe for now.

Went surfing - water temp 52F.

Joel was the best, J not so much.

It was not my idea to go surfing in DECEMBER!

Lindsay was the second best surfer.

A great time overall.

Enjoying the ocean.

OK, Here's a real photo of Joel.

Get ready, kids, we're going to the zoo.

Made a mad dash to the panda enclosure to miss the crowd.

Got to see the famous baby.

The mama panda stripped the bamboo like it was a Snickers bar.

The gorillas were quite impressive.

What are all those humans doing out there?

These critters scampered about like four year olds.

This one made me think of Washoe.

Three of Lindsay's 482 orangutan pictures.

Only orangs and humans grow long hair.

This guy gave us quite a show.

J enjoyed the jiggler so much I dropped my camera.

Never fear - he fixed it!

Took the tour via bus - a very different perspective.

That J is a ham.

Saw the requisite camels.

The elephants were more active than expected.

It seems so obvious these are intelligent animals.

The hippo was fascinating.

Laughing dog, without the laugh when we saw it.

The snow leopard was beautiful.

Joel took this awesome pic of the llama.

The koala was the antithesis of exciting.

Navigated the crowd like a professional.

This was the only giraffe we saw.

Loved the regalness of the polar bears.

Until this one backed up to the glass to "water" the edge.

Looks like urine, smells like urine.

The tiger was finishing off some meat.

Warthogs as lovable as one thinks from Lion King.

The zebras were larger than expected.

Nature's art.

Joel and I could have touched the jaguar.

The eagle was majestic.

Antelopes galore - only one standing still.

Being goofy.

End of a great day, and a great vacation.
