WELCOME SENIORS!
Wow. We have less than 3 months to go and the world will be at our fingertips! All of us are excited about it. Aren’t you? Does it feel like you haven’t done something important, like you’re missing out on a big opportunity? Yeah. We felt the same way until we thanked RHIT for all of the great memories and experiences we’ve had over the last four years. There’s no better way for the rest of you to fill that void than to support Rose-Hulman by making a pledge to the Senior Class President’s Circle.
Throughout Rose’s 134 years, senior classes have begun their careers as alumni by making small gifts to the institution as a senior class. The mark of the generations of students that have come before us is both evident and everlasting in the scholarships and endowments available to current and future students. Becoming part of this tradition shows that the Class of 2008 values the education and experiences they have been privileged to receive and believes in reaching out to give back to their alma mater to sustain and enhance Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for future generations.
The Senior Class President’s Circle Leaders have the privilege of leading the charge, so that for generations to come, people will know that the Rose-Hulman graduates of 2008 will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We will go on and show everyone that we will make our mark upon the world at large.
So, join us in our ambitious endeavor. You’re never too young to begin making your place in the world.

ROSE-HULMAN CLASS OF 2008
“ENGINEERS FIGHTING TO MAKE THEIR MARK”
Rose-Hulman has instituted many traditions over the course of its creation. Of these traditions you, the graduating seniors, have or are going to participate in many of them:
- Building the Homecoming Bonfire with the donated outhouse
- Senior Pranks
- Greek Games
- Firing the cannon at football games
- Champagne toast after commencement
All of these memories will remain with us for a very long time, but is there a better way to continually remember your experience at Rose? How about starting your own tradition, one that will be remembered for all time?
Class of 2008, its time to say thank you to Rose for everything it has done for us by making a small contribution to the Class of 2008 Scholarship Fund.
WHAT IS THE CLASS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?
The Class Scholarship Program was initiated as a way for classmates to work together to create an endowed scholarship fund. Each fund is named for the class year as a legacy of the class and as a gift to current and future students of Rose. The Senior Class President’s Circle is the organization in which all seniors who make a gift will be recognized.
WHY SUPPORT RHIT?
- The Class of 2008 Scholarship Fund is an opportunity to examine your Rose experience...someone's past Fund for Rose-Hulman donation most likely influenced your time at Rose, so this is now YOUR chance to return the favor!
- The Rose experience is not just 4 years, it lasts a lifetime! A donation to the Senior Class President’s Circle helps begin the transition from student to alumni status...hopefully sparking the commitment to further involvement.
- Giving back to Rose not only enhances Rose’s national reputation, but it also increases the value of a Rose diploma to future employers.

WAIT, I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS…
CAN I DESIGNATE MY GIFT TO ANYTHING ON CAMPUS?
Of course we can. Some students give to their favorite sport or academic department, while others put their gift towards buying WD40 for squeaky equipment. It’s all up to you, as long as you make a commitment.
WELL, I’M GONNA HAVE A LOT OF LOANS TO PAY BACK …
This is true for most college graduates. A small commitment or gift is more than enough for you to give right now. If you don’t take that trip to Starbucks today, you’ll have the money for your gift.
WHAT DO I RECEIVE FOR GIVING TO ROSE?
- A chance to make a difference.
- The higher the participation percentage that the senior class has, the more money that will be matched from an alumnus.
- The knowledge that a scholarship will be created by the Class of 2008 for the next generation.
- Our piece of the Rose tartan. Remember those pictures of donors in Olin Hall with the tartan jackets; we receive a piece of our very own.
