CSSE 220: Object Oriented Software Development
Exam 2, Spring 2008-2009
The Rules
- This is a take-home exam.
- Begin this exam any time after Wednesday, May 20, 7 a.m.
- Complete this exam any time before Thursday, May 21, 7 a.m.
- Time limit: 3 hours.
- I expect that 1.5 hours will be ample for everyone.
- But budget 3 hours so that you are assured that time pressure will not play a role.
- You may split the exam over two sessions if you wish.
- If you spend 3 hours on the exam and want more time,
email me to discuss the possibility of an extension.
- Don't continue past 3 hours without permission — I want you to use your time wisely, so I want to be part of
any discussion about taking more than 3 hours.
- This exam is open-everything, including but not limited to your computer, the Internet, the course web site, Angel, and your textbook(s).
BUT:
- You may NOT discuss the problems in this exam with anyone except your instructor until the time
by which everyone should have completed the exam (Thursday, May 21, 7 a.m.)
- You write code for this exam; there are no written problems.
See the problems.
- Because of time constraints,
no documentation is required on this exam.
- However, you ARE expected to use good style (and your score will be reduced if you do not do so).
- DO prepare hard for this test (by making sure you understand the lessons of ArraysAndArrayLists, SwingDemo, VectorGraphics, and your Capstone project).
DON'T get anxious about this test.
- If you find that you cannot do some of the problems, I'll meet with you after the test to help you overcome any blind spots
and offer you a retest as part of the final exam.
Don't abuse this privilege (DO prepare for the test!), but I hope that it reduces any anxiety about the test.
- If you have questions about The Rules for this exam, ask BEFORE the exam (like now!).
