CSSE 220 -- Object-oriented Software Development

Homework 2 Due at 8:05 AM on Day 3.

Note: If textbook is not available in the bookstore by mid-afternoon Wednesday, I will give a grace period for this assignment. But if possible, you should borrow the book from someone sooner than Wednesday so you are not having to scramble to read and do two quizzes when the book arrives.
  1. Complete the assigned reading for the next session (see the course schedule). If there is something you do not understand, make note of it so you can ask about it.
    Estimated time: Textbook: 60 minutes.
  2. Look at the Key Concepts from the end of chapters 1 and 2.  This is a good place to quickly notice things you might have missed from the chapters. At some point we will have a "Key concepts quiz" over chapters 1-4.
  3. Glance at Exercises 2.1-2.6, 2.8-2.14, 3.1-3.7 of Weiss .  If you can't quickly see (at least in general terms) how you would do one of them, perhaps you should spend a little bit more time thinking about it, or even do it in detail.
  4. Complete the Angel quiz over this reading. You'll find this on the course Angel page, under Lessons → Assignments → Reading Quizzes → Quiz 2.
The quiz should be available Wednesday morning.  Estimated time (after reading the material): 20 minutes.
  5. If you have not already installed the  Subclipse plug-in for Eclipse, you should do so. http://www.rose-hulman.edu/class/csse/resources/Subclipse/installation.htm.  If you took 120 in Spring, 2006 or later, you probably already have it.
