Session 14 Preparation — Videos, Reading and Quizzes
Instructions:
There are no quizzes in Moodle for this session.
But there ARE things to do for this session, as listed below.
Videos and Reading:
Beforedoing the paper-and-pencil practice problems for Exam 2
(that you will see below),
do this Before-the-Session quiz.
(But read the sub-items below first.)
This quiz includes practice problems for the paper-and-pencil part of Exam 2
that are very similar in form to problems that you might actually see on Exam 2.
You do not have to print the quiz (unless you want to). Just hand-write your answers on
paper or type your answers into a file, whichever is easier for you.
You may have questions or uncertainty about some of the problems as you do them.
That is OK! Just take your best guess and continue to the next problem.
AFTER attempting all the problems, you will watch videos with their solutions.
But to get the full benefit of the problems, it is critical that you
attempt the problems before continuing to their solutions (below).
If you have not already done so,
complete ALL the exercises in Sessions 8 through 13.
Reminder: You must COMPLETELY understand ALL of your solutions.
Get help from your instructor and/or student assistants if you have some solutions that you do NOT
completely understand.
If you are still working on Sessions 8 through 10
and have not yet begun Sessions 11 through 13,
contact your instructor
to get help catching up before Exam 2.
Note especially the Admission Ticket
that you MUST complete BEFORE you take the exam. Plan accordingly!
If you have ANY questions about the exam
— what it covers, how it works, and/or the material it assesses —
ask your instructor NOW, by email or whatever.
These are EXCELLENT practice problems. Understanding them is CRITICAL to your success.
You can print them or not, your choice.
To WRITE YOUR ANSWERS, do one of the following (YOUR CHOICE):
hand-write your answers on the document if you printed it, or
hand-write your answers on a separate sheet of paper,
or
type your answers in a file.
A plain text file (as in Notepad) is best, but a Microsoft Word file is OK.
It does not matter what the name of the file is.
Number your answers in the same order as they appear in the document with the problem statements.
AFTER (!) doing each page of those problems,
check your answers to the problems on that page via
the
Answer
Key to those problems.
The Answer Key has the same page-by-page organization as the questions.
Do a page of questions, then check your answers for (only) that page.
Then do another page of questions, check your answers to that page, and so forth.
To TURN IN YOUR ANSWERS:
If you wrote your answers by hand, take a photo of your answers.
Submit either that photo or the file in which you typed your answers to Moodle
in the item named Turn in your Practice Paper-and-Problems here
that appears in the session/topic for Session 14.
