To compute your grade in the course:

Rule 1: To pass the course, you must:
  1. Complete (to the satisfaction of your instructor) EVERY assigned in-class exercise and EVERY Preparation quiz.
    • You may redo any exercise or quiz until it is satisfactory, if you do so in a timely way. (See Attendance / Late work.)
  2. For each major learning objective, succeed on a short quiz on that learning objective twice in a row.
    • You will have at least 5 opportunities per learning objective. These quizzes are easy; to succeed, you simply have to prepare adequately for them.
Rule 2: Assuming that you succeed per Rule 1, calculate the weighted average of your scores on tests and your capstone team project, and then convert that weighted average to a letter grade:
Category Weight
Exam 1 15%
Exam 2 20%
Exam 3 10%
Final exam (during finals week) 15 %
In-class daily quizzes 10%
Capstone team project 30%
A: 92 and up
B+: 88 to 92
B: 83 to 88
C+: 78 to 83
C: 70 to 78
D: 65 to 70
F: below 65
Note that this is NOT the standard "10 point" scale.

Rule 3: Additionally, you must have at least a C average on tests AND at least a C average on the project to earn a C or better in the course.
