Electro-Optic Polymer Thin Film team

The prospective goal for this team is the fabrication of an electro-optic polymer film for RF modulation of a laser beam. This will be done by the duplication of the synthesis of a non-linear optical chromaphore containing polymide, fabrication of a poled polymer matrix, and testing the same for electro-optic modulation. This team also has the task of the synthesis of novel sterically hindered NLO chromaphores, incorporation of the same in a high Tg polymer matrix, poling of the polymer matrix, and testing for electro-optic modulation.
