Carmel High School students gather for a group photograph after winning this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition for their third consecutive title.
Shonk Award Winners:
Julia Wang and Nathan Mytleka of Park Tudor High School
earned honors for having the top male and female scores in the freshman division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. The book prizes came from a fund established to honor former Vigo County teacher Sally Shonk. Presenting the awards were Allen Broughton (left), chair of Rose-Hulman's Department of Mathematics, and Rose-Hulman Mathematics Professor Vin Isaia.
Top Sophomores: Eric Langowski of Carmel, David Liand of Carmel, Jing Wen Liao of Culver Academies, Mark Sellke of West Lafayette Harrison, and Yushi Homma of Carmel
received book prizes as the top male and female sophomore place finishers in this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. Each recieved two mathematics
textbooks, in memory of former Cincinnati contest organizer
Mary Rhein. Langowski, Liang, Sellke, ad Homma had perfect scores.
Making the award presentation were Allen Broughton, chair of Rose-Hulman's Department of Mathematics, and Mathematics Professor Mark Inlow.
Top Junior:
Likith Govindaiah of Champaign Central High School
took first place honors in the junior class division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. Presenting the award were Allen Broughton, head of Rose-Hulman's Department of Mathematics, and professor of mathematics Joe Eichholz.
Another Perfect Score:
Shi-Ke Xue of Iowa City West and Lyndon Ji of Carmel High School each
had a perfect 100-point score to win the senior class division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition.
This was Xue's second perfect score at the competition.
Ji earned a perfect score for the fourth consecutive year.
Congratulating Xue and Ji on the honor were Allen Broughton, head of Rose-Hulman's mathematics department, and contest co-organizer/math professor Leanne Holder.
Going Out As Champions: Winning the senior class division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition were Carmel Seniors
Willie Zhu, Terry Ming, Yushi Homma, and Lyndon Ji.
Cobngratulating the students on their accomplishment was

Junior Titlists: Iowa City West High School students that combined to win the junior division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition were (from left)

Sophomore Champions: Members of Carmel High School's first place sophomore team in this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition included
Yushi Homma, Charles Liang, Patrick Tan, and David Liang.

Freshman Class Winners: Carmel High School freshmen combined to earn top team honors at this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. The winning team included
Alex Yu, Joshua Segaran, Kevin Fei, and Crishan Fernando.
