Project SELECT: Explore. Connect. Test.
Project SELECT is a week-long science and engineering camp for students completing grades 9-10. This program gives students a hands-on opportunity to explore the connections between science, mathematics, and engineering.
Project SELECT invites you to build on your existing science and mathematics knowledge as you explore how scientific principles can be applied to solve difficult problems. Working directly with Rose-Hulman professors, you’ll connect science to modern engineering applications, design and build devices, and test your work using state-of-the-art equipment.

What You’ll Do
- Explore fundamental concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics through hands-on activities led by Rose-Hulman faculty.
- Connect scientific principles to engineering applications by designing and building devices that address real-world challenges.
- Test your designs using state-of-the-art engineering equipment and experiments, including technology you build yourself.
- Work closely with two faculty members each day as you experience how scientists and engineers approach shared problems from different perspectives.
- Collaborate with your peers and student counselors in the lab and connect through fun evening activities!

If you love science and math and want to see how they can be applied to solve real problems, Project SELECT is the perfect fit. You’ll work directly with Rose-Hulman faculty, explore multiple STEM disciplines, and experience what it’s like to live and learn on a college campus.
By the end of the week, you’ll have completed five science and engineering activities—and gained a better understanding of where your curiosity, creativity, and STEM skills can take you.
