Winter Career Fair Attracts Near Record Number of Companies
January 19, 2016
STRONG JOB MARKET: Rose-Hulman students will seek out full time, internship, and co-op job opportunities from 127 companies coming to the winter career fair.
A near record number of 127 companies are coming from throughout the country to the winter career fair on January 20 in hopes of filling full time, internship, and co-op openings.
And, they will find students lining up throughout the Sports and Recreation Center’s fieldhouse for those available opportunities.
“The job market is still very strong for the Class of 2016, with companies now having a better idea of their employment needs. They may have identified good prospects at the fall fair, and now are back for follow-up interviews and seeking other good job candidates,” says Kevin Hewerdine, director of career services and employer relations. “Companies now have a much better understanding about their specific needs for full time, internship, and co-op positions.”
Big name, multinational corporations planning to attend the event are General Electric, Caterpillar, Texas Instruments, Toyota, Rockwell Collins, National Instruments, Honda, Archer Daniels Midland, Eli Lilly and Company, Raytheon, Honeywell International, Anheuser-Busch, and Marathon Petroleum.
The entire list of winter fair attendees is available HERE.
The popularity of on-campus recruiting builds off the record 266 companies that attended last fall’s career fair, and hosted other events during the 2015-16 school year to attract interest from students. The Office of Career Services annually organizes three fairs, hosts more than 2,000 job interviews for students with prospective employers, and passes along students’ resumes to interested companies.
