Registration Deadline Nears for Science, Math & Engineering Summer Camp
April 29, 2015
June 15 - 26
Middle-school students with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are invited to apply for the Bernard A. Harris ExxonMobil summer camp, being hosted by Rose-Hulman from June 15-26.
The application deadline is May 8, and youths will be notified about their selection by May 22. Application information is available at www.rose-hulman.edu/sciencecamp.
This all-expenses-paid camp is open to youths from traditionally underserved populations that will be entering sixth, seventh, or eighth grades in the 2015-16 school year. Camp participants may have opportunities to work hands-on with robots, test space craft, and take part in other STEM-related projects. Youths will stay on the Rose-Hulman campus throughout the camp experience.
Rose-Hulman can accept up to 48 students for the camp this summer.
The camp, founded by Bernard A. Harris Jr., the first African-American to walk in space, is sponsored by The Harris Foundation, in partnership with the ExxonMobil Foundation.
