Alumnus Michael Huff Providing Executive Leadership as Arsenal Capital Partner
October 29, 2015
Chemical engineering alumnus Michael W. Huff has become an industry and operations partner in Arsenal Capital Partners, a leading New York-based private equity firm investing in middle-market specialty industrials and health care companies.
Huff, a 1978 graduate, has extensive experience working in senior operating positions with large public companies, as well as serving as chief executive officer for a global portfolio company of a mid-market private equity firm.
“We believe that Mike is an outstanding operating executive who will be able to apply the experience he has attained over the past 35-plus years to our current and new investments," says John Televantos, a partner who co-heads Arsenal's specialty industrials group.
Prior to joining Arsenal, Huff was with Citadel Plastic Holdings, Inc. since 2008, most recently as president and chief executive officer for the past five years. He was a vice president and general manager with Johns Manville Corporation (2003 to 2007), and in a variety of operational positions with General Electric’s plastics division (1982 to 2003). He began his career with Diamond Shamrock after graduating from Rose-Hulman.
Arsenal Capital Partners invests in companies that have the potential for further value creation by accelerating growth and enhancing operational capabilities and competitiveness. The firm currently has $1.7 billion of committed equity capital with such market leaders as Kel-Tech, a leading provider of specialty chemicals and related services to oil and gas exploration and production companies; Accella Performance Materials, a leading manufacturer of formulated polyurethane, specialty coatings, and recycled rubber products; and International Fiber Corporation, a leading provider of dietary insoluble fiber for food and pharmaceutical markets.
