FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?

I went to graduate school right after leaving RHIT, so technically my first job was being a Graduate Assistant.

MOST VALUABLE LESSON YOU LEARNED ON THAT JOB?

I learned that professors at Rose-Hulman will go above and beyond to help (something I took for granted while a student), and that it’s definitely not like that at other places (I learned that very quickly).

MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?

Dr. Ron Artigue [Chemical Engineering] — he was always very funny and approachable, full of all kinds of advice, and a great teacher!

IDEAL WEEKEND?

Sitting at home with my husband, two daughters, and three cats doing absolutely nothing of value.

STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?

Definitely Star Trek.

WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?

My husband and I have a whiteboard with a to-do list where things are counted as infinite series. Oh, and I am totally a crazy cat lady (my former license plate was “Dr. Meow”).

ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?

Hard work, persistence and a positive attitude are so much more important than just being smart (seriously!)
